Hatches, Matches and Beyond" by Sarah Doig
This Monday morning talk by Sarah Doig, hosted by U3A at their Woodbridge meeting venue, is entitled "Hatches, Matches and Beyond: Curious Tales from the Suffolk Parish Registers".
Sarah Doig is an established local historian and lives in Suffolk. After having travelled the world during her 20-year career in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Sarah could no longer resist the strong pull back to East Anglia to which she returned in 2010. She now works as a freelance local history researcher, writer and speaker. She has written a number of books and articles on the local history of Suffolk and East Anglia.
There is plenty of car parking available. All talks start at 10.30 am, and refreshments are available from 10.
"In general visitors are welcome. ... The first meeting is free and after that you must join." The local U3A annual subscription is £12.50, entitling members to free attendance at talk meetings, as well as to many other benefits — see their "How to Join" page.
